Trajan 916 Band Saw
Product Overview
Trajan 916 Band Saw
All 916 band saws are well-suited to typical job shops, small fabricators, and tool rooms because of their 9 inch by 16 inch cutting capacity. But the Trajan 916 ups the ante on all other 916 saws. It’s a manual, pivot bandsaw that can handle production environments with ease. When run with a carbide-tipped bandsaw blade, it can handle extremely hard metals, like nickel alloys and aerospace steels. The Trajan 916 also drastically improves the life of your bandsaw blade.
How’d we do it? First, we used high quality ductile cast iron to build the guide arms, so they absorb vibration better and keep the blade stable while you’re cutting. We also used a carbide guide system with roller bearings as pre-guides to ensure you can take full advantage of the Trajan 916’s cutting capacity for all variety of metals. Then, we added a two horse power motor, which provides the saw with substantially more power and helps strengthen its frame.
When building the Trajan 916, we were continually looking for ways to give saw operators more options, so we included an infinitely variable blade speed pulley system that ranges from 95 to 402 fpm. Until now, this type of blade speed control was only available on higher-priced production saws.
We also gave saw operators more control by designing the Trajan 916 with a heavy-duty cast base and saw vise. They enable you to swivel the vise to cut up to 45 degrees in one direction.
On other 916 saws, you have to get your work piece close to the blade to measure for your cut. This practice can endanger saw operators and make accurate measurement difficult. To ensure more precise cuts and enhance saw user safety, we added a laser guide to the Trajan 916. It assists in positioning the work piece and assuring correct measurement.
When band saws are easier to run, jobs are finished faster and more accurately. The down feed controls on the Trajan 916 separate feed and hold from descent rates, so you can achieve exact control over the saw head’s feed rate.
All our upgrades to the 916 meant we also needed to add a self-contained coolant system. It provides a constant and steady coolant flow, which increases your cutting capabilities for harder materials and increases blade life. We recommend you use an AF 2000 semi-synthetic or AF 3000 full synthetic coolant.
We also added a chip brush to the 916 design. It helps remove chips from the blade teeth and stores them in a chip box, which is easy to remove and clean out. The conveniences we’ve incorporated into the Trajan 916 help saw operators reduce and simplify clean-up time.
The variety of features and upgrades we’ve added to the 916 makes the Trajan a superior band saw. At Trajan, we make every machine better.
And of course all Trajan Band Saws run better with blades from Metal Sawing Technology, we are you single source for all of your band saw needs; Replacement Parts, Service on all machines, New Machines and the worlds finest blades, all at one place
