Metal Sawing Technology Acquires Houston Metal Cutting in Key Move to Grow Customer Service
HOUSTON, Texas (May 4, 2022) – Metal Sawing Technology continues to expand and disrupt the steel processing industry with its recent acquisition of Houston Metal Cutting.
“The acquisition of Houston Metal Cutting brings us one step closer to the customer,” Metal Sawing Technology President Chris Luke said. “This will allow us to better understand customer needs and the performance of our products on machines.”
“The acquisition of Houston Metal Cutting brings us one step closer to the customer”
Houston Metal Cutting is more than 50 years old and the family-owned business was developed into one of Houston’s premier contract steel processing companies that specializes in band sawing all types of steel. With more than 20 bandsaws and up to 60-inch capacity, the company has been helping customers cut a large variety of parts for more than a half century.
It will be renamed Houston Metal Sawing and will serve another benefit as it provides Metal Sawing Technology the ability to test new blade and machine innovations in real time.
“We manufacture the blades and machines, and will do contract cutting all to customer specs; we cut everything from 60-inch stainless steel to 1-inch tubing and pipe,” Luke said. “The acquisition gives us the ability to service the customer by either cutting them the material or selling them the blades and the knowhow to do it or the machines to do it. It was a big piece of the puzzle and is an integral part of our customer service. We now can test new blade technology in a production setting. There are just some things you can’t replicate in engineering, such as noise, vibration and blade resilience. It will further complete our total commitment in the bandsaw industry.”
